TransHub is ACON’s comprehensive digital resource platform supporting trans and gender diverse people, their families, allies and healthcare providers across Australia. With hundreds of pages of resources and a growing audience, their existing Squarespace website was no longer fit for purpose. They needed a more powerful, flexible platform that their team could manage confidently and that reflected their refreshed visual identity.
TransHub came to us with a significant challenge – migrating a large, content-heavy website from Squarespace to WordPress without losing a single resource their community depended on. Alongside the migration, the new site needed to incorporate their updated branding and introduce two key features: an extensive, intuitively filtered resource library and a geolocation search tool to help users find trans-friendly healthcare providers in their area.
Accessibility was non-negotiable throughout – every design and functionality decision needed to ensure that visitors could find what they needed quickly and easily, regardless of how they were accessing the site.
We migrated the TransHub website from Squarespace to WordPress, rebuilding the site from the ground up with their new visual identity and a significantly improved content structure. The resource library was carefully indexed and organised with intuitive filtering, making it straightforward for visitors to find the specific information they were looking for across hundreds of pages of content.
A custom geolocation-powered doctors list and interactive map was developed to help trans and gender diverse people locate affirming healthcare providers near them – a feature central to the platform’s mission. Accessibility was considered at every stage of the build, and the team was trained to manage and update the website confidently after handover.

The entire Squarespace website – hundreds of pages of critical community resources – was carefully migrated to WordPress, giving TransHub a more powerful and flexible platform that their team could own and manage long term.

A geolocation-powered healthcare directory and interactive map was custom built for the site, making it easy for trans and gender diverse people to find affirming doctors and specialists in their local area. Healthcare providers can also register directly through the site and manage their own listings, keeping the directory accurate, up to date and growing organically over time.

With an extensive library of resources spanning multiple audiences and topics, intuitive filtering was essential. Visitors can now quickly navigate to the information most relevant to them, whether they’re an individual, a family member or a healthcare provider.

The TransHub team was trained to confidently manage and update the website themselves after launch, ensuring the platform could continue to grow and evolve without relying on outside support for every change.
